Beauty Tips For Men

continued...

Neck
Razor burns and ingrown hairs are common problems for men. The key is shaving with the grain (the direction the hair grows). Shaving against the grain can cause redness, rashes, razor burn, and ingrown hairs. This is because the hair is pulled tight, cut off below the level of the skin and thus has a better chance of causing irritation.

Pick a shaving cream or specialized razor to help ease the pain. Find a shaving cream with lubricating thickening agents that prevent water loss and have a softening and soothing effect on skin. If bothered by razor burn, pick an electric razor with sensitivity settings or use a fresh blade every time you shave. If problems still persist, consider seeing a dermatologist.

Skin
Great skin takes effort. And contemporary men are no longer shying away from skin care products or other cosmetics, having finally realized its not just women who can have great skin. Looking good never gets old, so it's important you keep your skin youthful and healthy. To get amazing skin, soap and shaving cream simply won't do. You need to improve your entire skin care routine.

An effective skin care routine includes cleansing, followed by a gentle facial exfoliant scrub, which will make shaving easier and more comfortable. This is followed with a moisturizer containing sunscreen for day and a moisturizer to encourage skin regeneration at night.

Look for products with Aloe vera, vitamin E, B-5 and C and chamomile to improve the texture and clarity of your skin. They also help remove dead skin, control oiliness and prevent acne breakouts. So take some time to find the skin care products that suit you best. If you improve your skin care routine, not only will you start to notice a difference in your skin, but so will everyone else.

Tanning
Tanned is always in demand. Tanned skin looks healthier than pale skin and people are unconsciously drawn to health. So don't be afraid to go outside and soak up some rays or spend a short stint in the tanning bed - as long as you protect your skin. Use the appropriate sunscreen for your surroundings to get that sun-kissed look and keep your skin healthy.

If you're off to the tanning salon, be sure use a tan enhancer. It provides you with a better tan and healthier skin. Or try a spray-on tan, if you want instant results and the lowest possible impact on your skin.

Tattoos
Think before you ink. Five years ago ever frat guy got a tribal band or ring of barbed wire inked on their bicep. Now many wish they hadn't. If you're going to get a tattoo make sure you'll be proud of it ten years from now. Have your tattoo mean something. And make sure it can be covered up if it doesn't suit your workplace.

Arms
Men are expected to have a certain amount of arm hair. But if you're at the zoo and notice the gorillas have as much arm hair as you, it's time to trim.

Armpits
Try to always keep your armpit hair under control. Trim or remove it entirely. Removing or at least reducing your armpit hair will reduce odor-causing bacteria and keep you smelling fresher longer. Ensure you smell great by wearing a lightly scented underarm deodorant.

Hands
Your nails do get noticed. So it's important to have healthy fingernails. Well-manicured nails show women you're committed to good hygiene and grooming habits. They can also be part of your personal style and improve your overall appearance. So keep your nails filed and trimmed or get them done by a professional.

Chest
There's nothing wrong with having hair on your chest. But if it looks like a rug, a trim is in order. If it's going to be a big job, skip the scissors and use a beard trimmer to shear. As a rule, men should never have hair sticking out of the neckline of their shirt. It's a huge turn-off to women.

Back
There's nothing sexy about back hair. If your back hair is noticeable, have it removed by wax or laser. It may be a little painful, but it will hurt your ego far more when your date runs off the instant you take your shirt off.

Feet
If you're going to wear sandals or flip-flops this summer, trim your toenails or get a pedicure. Great nails show a pride in proper grooming. Bad nails say bad things about you. The hair on your toes should also be trimmed or removed.

A common problem for men is foot odor. Thankfully, it's easy to treat. Scrub your feet daily and dry them completely or insert a pair of Odor-Eaters insoles into your shoes, which will absorb sweat and smell.

GROOMING TIPS
Protect the skin you're in

Some men are not paying attention to their skin. They have to realize amazing skin can make a big difference in the dating world - especially as you get older. As we age, our skin loses water, oil and elasticity due to the natural breakdown of collagen. All of these elements balance the skin to keep it young looking. A proper skin care routine slows this process.
