Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but there is still a basic level of personal hygiene and grooming one must meet to succeed in the dating world. Meeting and exceeding these expectations can dramatically improve your physical appearance.
So don't be afraid to shave, trim or tweeze. Find time to brush, wash, lotion, and gel. Well-groomed women take at least a couple minutes out of each day to ensure they look their best. Why? Because these women know great grooming can be the difference between being ignored and turning heads.
A beautiful white smile, smooth skin, and polished nails are musts for every woman. The only grooming decisions where women can differ are makeup and hairstyle. Those two grooming decisions should be based on your facial structure, skin tone, signature style and hair color.
Finding the perfect hairstyle should be your number one grooming concern. So flip through the pages of women's fashion magazines to see what's hot. Get the opinions of fashionable men you trust. Have a stylist explain what best fits your facial structure. Take some time to find the cut that suits you best.
There are many parts to a successful grooming routine. The Attraction All-Stars guide below is going to examine each from head to toe.
Hair
Men love a woman with attractive, touchable hair. They also view her differently depending on the cut she chooses. To men, short means fun and energetic. Wavy means cool and seductive. Long means classic and confident. So make sure your hairstyle matches your personality and style.
The hottest women's hairstyles can be found in the pages of Vogue, Cosmo and Elle. Tear out pages of your favorite cuts and show them to a stylist. Ask them which cuts best fits your facial structure and hair texture. Also consider getting a man's opinion before facing the scissors.
When it comes to haircuts, you get what you pay for. A high-end stylist will get you a high-end cut. A discount stylist could land you a hairstyle headache. Finding a stylist you trust can ease your nerves and save you time. Let them fill you in on all the latest styles and suggest which one might look best.
Short
Short has always been chic. It gives off a fun, energetic, youthful look. It also directs attention to your eyes and cheekbones. This cut can be especially flattering if you have small and delicate features. If you go short, regular trims are a must to ensure that you'll have healthy-looking tresses. But it is one of the easiest cuts to maintain. The Hollywood gold standard is Cameron Diaz, followed by Keira Knightley.
Medium
The best of both worlds. Shoulder length hair gives off a casual, yet alluring look. It can also be used to lengthen round faces and sharpen square ones. Wearing your hair this length gives you the greatest style versatility. So don't be afraid to try new styles. Another bonus is this hair length is relatively low-maintenance. The Hollywood gold standard is Reese Witherspoon, followed by Britney Spears.
Long
Long hair isn't square. It's a classic look that projects health and vibrancy. It's also extremely versatile. Long hair gives you the chance to wear it down or pulled into a ponytail, braid, or bun. Be sure to spend time combing and treating it or you're at risk of tangles and dry ends. Long hair will require the most work of any hair length. The Hollywood gold standard is Nicole Kidman, followed by Lindsay Lohan.
Braids
One of the more daring hairstyles. Braids are eye-catching, bold and ooze confidence. It's a great hairstyle to ensure you get noticed. Once braided, the hairstyle is easy to maintain and won't fall out of place. Braids offer a unique look, but can be time-consuming and expensive to get done. Their visual impact also diminishes as more people try them. The Hollywood gold standard is Alicia Keys, followed by Jada Pickett-Smith.
Straight
Simple and classic. Straight hair is smooth, natural and reflects light in a way that curly hair can't. For most women it will mean less time at the salon and in front of the mirror. If permanently straightening your hair is too daunting a task, try your blow-dryer and round brush. They can smooth the surface of the hair and keep it that way until you shampoo again. But be careful not to wear your hair too flat. Straight hair still needs to have movement and life.
