Tell-tale touch
If they touch themselves or you during a conversation, it's a sign of attraction. If they run a finger along the edge of an ear, they are envisioning your touch. If any kind of voluntary body contact takes place, it shows they are comfortable enough around you for physical contact to take place. The brushing of arms and accidental finger contact are all indicators of attraction.
Gentle caress
Attracted men and women caress objects during conversation. This is the subconscious anticipation of your touch. A glass is the most commonly caressed object. Women usually stroke the glass up and down. Men tend to run a finger around the rim.
Steady hands
When absorbed in conversation, a person's hands will be used for gestures or sit at their sides. If they can't keep their hands away from their face or from drumming on the table, change topics fast because you're boring them.
Firm feet
If a person is committed to the conversation their feet will be planted firmly on the ground. Lifted feet or wiggling toes usually means the person is getting ready to flee. But fidgeting feet can also indicate someone has to go to the washroom.
Spot the liar
Need to know if someone's telling you the truth? The mouth guard, eye rub and ear rub are all signs someone may be lying. By blocking the mouth they are subconsciously trying to stop the lie from coming out, the eye rub to prevent them from seeing themselves say it and the ear rub prevents them from hearing it. None of these are fail-safes, but they can provide you with valuable clues if you're expect the person is lying.
COMMON MISTAKES
Muddled words
Keep your hand away from your mouth. It stifles words, is visually unsettling, looks unconfident and is a sign you're lying.
Nervous is contagious
If you're nervous talking with someone, they'll get nervous too. Calm down. Keep your body still. Fidgeting is distracting and a sign of insecurity.
Pocket placement
Keep your hands out of your front pockets. It pulls your shoulders forward, ruining your posture. Put your hands in your back pockets instead.
Poor eye contact
Unnecessarily breaking eye contact can derail an entire conversation. If you can't hold eye contact you're seen as aloof, unconfident or uninterested.
Personal space invasion
People have a certain distance they like to keep between themselves and someone new. If you come too close, they will step or lean backwards to maintain a comfortable distance. Only once you've gained their trust, can you move into their personal space. This distance is different for each person and situation.
LAST MINUTE ADVICE
Competitor perception
Don't expect everyone to appreciate body language that screams of confidence and sexuality. Body language that attracts women often repels men. And vice versa. Often men will be labelled as 'sleazy' by other men. And women will be labelled as 'easy' by other women. It is seen as a threat to your competitors and viewed with envy by those who don't have your body language skills.
Trust your gut
Whenever someone is called perceptive or intuitive, we're talking about their ability to read a person's non-verbal cues and to compare those with their words. When we say that we have a hunch, a gut feeling or woman's intuition that someone has told us a lie, we really mean that their body language and words do not match up. It's not ESP or magic - its body language.
Practise makes perfect
Don't be afraid to study others. Sit at the edge of a room and people-watch. Spot the body language signals. Watch how they play out. See what signs are most effective. Least effective. Make mental notes or write them down on a notepad. Then try them out. The more you practice, the better your body language will become.

Eye contact, a sexy smile and tilted head are all unspoken signs of interest.
