Fashion Tips For Women

But you don't have to fly to Paris or Milan for great fashion advice. It can usually be found much closer to home. Pick a slow time of the day to try on clothes and have a veteran fashion retailer tell you what looks best on you and why. Get them to make suggestions on what current styles should fit you best. And remember to shower them with praise, so they'll always make time for you.

Professional help
If you want to shorten your fashion learning curve get yourself some professional help. Hiring an image consultant is usually worth the money. In a couple of hours they will have taught you more about fashion than most people learn in an entire lifetime. If you don't have the cash - don't worry. Find a fashionable friend and have them help you out. Both can save you a lot of time and money.

FASHION BASICS

Suit
Wearing a suit isn't all about business - it's also about sex appeal. Don't make the mistake of thinking suits can't make you look great. Your suits should impress while at work and at play. Women all around the globe are discovering they can look just as attractive in a suit as in a summer dress. So don't be afraid to suit up and land the date and promotion you want.

They key to a great suit is fit. It should be form-fitting, yet comfortable. Make sure your suit fits in the shoulders, waist and sleeves. The shoulder seams should match up perfectly with the edge of your shoulders. Suits should be slightly tapered in the waist. And the sleeves should rest atop your palm when holding your arms straight down beside your body.

Versatility is key. Conservative colors like black, navy and grey are much easier to pair shirts with than unconventional colors. Don't worry about your suits being too stylish. Using a variety of different colored and patterned shirts can instantly give your suits a radically different look.

Women also have the option of matching their jacket with pants or a skirt. Both look great and are widely-worn in the business world. Just make sure they match. And if you're wearing a skirt, you should stick with hosiery in the workplace.

Work: Own three different colored suit jackets with matching pants or skirts. Wear both pants and skirts to maximize your suit's versatility.

Casual: Own at least one suit and blazer. Pick a suit color that looks best on you and a black blazer. Toss the blazer over a casual dress shirt and jeans to instantly look more professional.

Shirts
Your shirts should be able to stand alone or breathe some life into your suits. A great shirt is all about fit, fashion and versatility. A shirt should be form-fitting or just loose enough to hide extra pounds. The mark of a spectacular shirt is when it can be worn with a number of outfits and always has you looking amazing.

There are hundreds of styles, patterns, fabrics and colors to choose from. It can be confusing which are best for you, so don't be afraid to ask fashion professionals what best accents your curves, body type, and hair and skin color. Make sure you have a balance of work-appropriate and weekend shirts and that none of your shirts are too tight or loose.

Women also shouldn't be afraid to show some neckline. It's important to show some skin and sexuality, even if you aren't large chested. To show some additional skin, roll up your sleeves in the summer. This simple adjustment gives you a more relaxed and casual appearance.

Own: A dozen long-sleeved dress shirts. A half-dozen short-sleeved shirts. They should vary in color, pattern and neckline. The more outfits each shirt matches the better.

Pants
Take your time when searching for that perfect pair of pants. Make sure they fit correctly in the crotch and rear. The legs should be neither tight nor baggy, and move with a comfortable ease. Look for flat front pants over pleats. This style will give you a thinner, cleaner look and match with more of your wardrobe. As will choosing dark conservative colors like black, navy and grey.

FASHION TIPS
Avoid wardrobe clash

Make sure whatever you buy strengthens you entire wardrobe. Buying odds and ends can be counterproductive. Women will find amazing bargains but only realize their purchase doesn't suit anything in their wardrobe when they get home. Every item of clothing you own should complement your signature style. If it clashes with your style, it doesn't matter what you paid for it. Odds are you're not going to wear it.
