Where To Take Your Date

continued...

Rollerblading
When the ice has melted, you can take the skating outside. The drawback of rollerblading is it doesn't have the romance of ice skating and the helmet, gloves, elbow guards and knees pads make you look like you're getting ready to play football. The potential for injury is also heightened. If they've never rollerbladed before it's important you've already developed enough trust to keep them safe. And be sure to never laugh when they crash.

Surfing
Ride the wave to another date. The mix of sun, ocean and surfing has become a dating staple along the coasts. Skin-tight wetsuits, swim shorts and bikinis help provide a sexually charged atmosphere. Add in the adrenaline of riding a violent wave of water and you've got something special. Just make sure one of you knows how to surf. It's far more enjoyable if you're the teacher, student or competitor.

Hike
Get some exercise and sharpen your social skills by taking them on a hike. Enjoy the beauty of nature, stretch your legs and breathe in fresh air. But before you strap on your hiking shoes, make sure it's up your date's alley. If they're afraid to step off the pavement, you may need to choose another activity. Also, keep the hike confined to easy trails to ensure neither of you is puffing and panting. Conversation is much easier when you're not out of breath.

Star gazing
Look up into the heavens for inspiration. Find constellations, planets and shooting stars in the skies above. Toss down a blanket, open a bottle of wine, lay back and admire the stars. Compete with your date to find constellations or show them where they're found. Spot Taurus, Orion and Ursa Minor. Do a little research and provide them some history on the main constellations. And if you get tired of looking into the sky, you can always turn that gaze to your date's eyes. You never know what might happen.

Pool hall
Look for your cue and shoot for another date. Shooting pool is great for interesting conversation as you move from shot to shot. Missed shots are great for teasing and increasing sexual tension. There is also a sense of rebelliousness in playing pool. Pool brings up visions of seedy characters, risky bets and shifty pool sharks. It's exciting. It's a step away from the everyday. But skip the pool hall if you have no idea how to play. You should be there to teach or compete.

Imax movie
A treat for their senses. Imax is not your normal movie-going experience - it's a visual and emotional rollercoaster. Try to find a special Imax movie and not just a Hollywood flick you can watch anywhere. The two of you may be sitting but it won't feel like it. But it's still best to plan a walk after the show. Talk about the movie and incorporate some movement into the date. Use the energy of motion to enhance your Imax encounter.

Skiing/Snowboarding
Ski it, don't shovel it. Take advantage of the snow. Grab your date, strap on your skis and jump on the chairlift. Nothing is more majestic than slicing through untouched, knee-deep powder. Use the mountaintop view to tease their senses. Savor the smell of trees. The revitalizing taste of mountain air. The magical landscape everywhere around you. Just make sure both of you know how to ski. And be sure to stay on runs both of you can ski safely.

FIRST DATE TIPS
Use your environment

Use your environment to entertain and spark conversation. Let the lights and music of the amusement park tease their senses. Get in line for the bumper cars and share your favorite amusement park moment. Laugh as you watch wide-eyed kids screaming on the rollercoaster. Let your environment be your biggest ally.
