Finding Attractive Singles

Dog park
Those who love dogs can find others who share a passion for pooches at the dog park. These areas are usually full of dogs lashed on leashes, flying after Frisbees and chasing after chew-toys, so make sure your dog can handle it. You don't want to be the owner always chasing after their furry friend. You want to be the cool owner with the adorable mutt.

Animals seem to bring out the best in people. Use this to your advantage and approach other owners. Toss your Frisbee a little too close to someone you're interested in. Sit down at the same bench as them while your dogs get to know one another. If your dogs like each another, use a doggie play-date as an excuse to see one another again. If the conversation went really well, don't be afraid to ditch the dogs and set up a play-date of your own.

Get there: Weekday evenings between 7-9 p.m. All day weekends. Mornings are usually poor because everyone is in a rush.

Conversation starter: "What type of breed is your dog?" followed by why they chose it. Or "How did you manage to find the cutest dog in the world?" to immediately win over dog owners.

The great outdoors
Outdoor enthusiasts can find those who share their love for pristine nature, fresh air and exercise on hiking trails, bike paths and in parks. These areas are full of singles exploring the outdoors and working up a sweat. So search the walking paths for attractive singles. Pull up beside beautiful bikers. Join running groups full of athletic joggers.

People seem more relaxed in nature. Use this to your advantage and approach other singles. Jog up beside them and ask which trails are their favorite and why. Sit beside them at a rest spot and ask about their favorite part of the park. Just be sure to pick your spots. If someone is drenched in sweat or struggling for breath, now is not the time to approach.

Get there: Weekday evenings between 7-9 p.m. All day weekends.

Conversation starter: "What is your dream adventure?" - Followed by why and if they've done it yet. If not, ask why.

Sporting events
Sports nuts can find similar singles in the bleachers, parked behind big screen televisions at the bar, tossing footballs in the park and insults at those refereeing sporting events. To win them over all you have to do is ask them about how the home team is doing.

If they aren't cheering for the home team, they may make an impassioned speech why. Don't accept any excuses. Tease them about being a turncoat and they'll respect you forever. So circle the World Cup, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup and World Series on your calendar, and make some noise.

Get there: Weekday evenings between 7-9 p.m. All day weekends. Check you local television listings for game-time information.

Conversation starter: "How are the Yankees doing?"

Weddings/Church
The only good part about weddings - if you're single - is the vulnerability levels of other singles are at all-time highs. So find the table with the most attractive singles, pull up a chair and start flirting. Once all the festivities are over and the other singles are pondering why they haven't met their perfect partner, pull them on the dance floor and make them feel special. Who knows, the next wedding you go to might be your own.

Church is a place of faith and a great place to find singles. Church functions are a low-pressure way of meeting new people and attract lots of well-dressed singles. People of the same religion also have one very powerful thing in common which can create a connection - their faith. So who knows, your 'special someone' might only be a few pews away.

Get there: Early. Show up at least fifteen minutes early. Try to sit close-by and within the field of vision of attractive singles.

Conversation starter: "I bet the next person to get married is..." - Play the 'who will get married next' game with other singles. Then tell them they won't be next to get married because they're too judgemental, once the game gets going. It's always great for a laugh.

FINDING SINGLES TIPS
Make yourself visible

Play all the wedding games. Dance with the bride. Catch the garter. Make yourself as visible as possible. It doesn't matter where you look for singles, if you're afraid to be seen. Do things that will get you noticed. Make a toast. Wear colorful clothes that catch the eye. Having other singles know you exist is an important part of dating.
